Car cover

I'm in search for a car cover that is 100% water proof. Here in Florida it rains just about everyday this time of year. The car sleeps in my garage as it is under heavy construction so it normally dosn't matter. But sometimes I really need to roll it out to do some other work. But it has no windows in it currently. So I'm searching for a car cover that will keep ALL water out.

Anyone have a reccomendation besides a tarp? HAO don't play that ****... lol

Well here in Alaska, my "garage" for my SA has been a Covercraft WeatherShield for the past 12 years, winter (for a 6+ mo straight shot) and every day on/off for the summer months. It is amazing - and expensive. But I had cheap ones that tear FAR easier and just plain wore out after a couple of years, so as they say, you can pay your $, or pay later - but you will pay

Some nice features:
-custom fit for RX7
-HOME MACHINE WASHABLE!!!!!!!!!!! this is huge, since a dirty cover ends up damaging a car, and having to go to a Laundromat to use bigger machines (as many covers require) is a time-waster.
-LIGHT weight. It feels like ballistic nylon (its not) so it very light, easy to put on/off or pack away.
-Covercraft stands behind the product. 1st one was defect after about 3 months (allowed water thru for some reason) - exchanged no problem
-IS water proof, fully 100% breathing - and dust proof. My Ride always looks JUST like it did when I covered it, even 6 months later. And again - this is OUTside year round storage!

Way more than what I'm looking for. The car would never be outside for more than a few days max. It normally stays in the garage. But sometimes I want to roll it out to have more working space in the garage.

I just need something that is water proof (not resistant) and will fit over the car. Nothing fancy.

I stored an RX-7 under my upper deck for several years before building my barn. I used some 6 mil plastic with a standard car cover over that. I then tied it all down with plenty of nylon string. Worked great.

If you're only doing it for a few days at a time, plastic with a cheap car cover would work. I know it's a pain to setup, but if cost is a factor then this is an option.

Not a bad idea. I do have one of those large blue tarps. I could lay that as the 1st layer then just lay one of those cheap car Covers over it.

I think I'll try that to see if it works.
