Car Broken Down! Need Yall's Help!!

Just like it says make car broke down on me. No surprise right! Well I was in houston to pick up a few things. I stopped by maz-max to pick up some parts for my baby! Since maz-max is a rotary god in my mind. After leaving heaven(maz-max) (Of course it cant break down while im there) I go about 5 miles and get on the toll way well its rush hour and I get cut off and it stalls on me. No biggie. Well It doesnt want to start back up. So I limp my way to the nearest exit. It runs good but it wont hold an idle. Well I make it to a autozone and thats all she wrote. So I replace the plugs with the spares I carry. Fires up after a little work. Runs like ****! I try to mess around with the idle screw and stuff nope nothing. I look into the carb I notice that the the left secondary is filling up with gas. I open it manualy and it dumps it out runs good for a few seconds, perfect. I thought I got it. Nope not quite it starts loading up again. WTF. I turn it off and let it sit awhile take out the plugs, blow it out. Nothing! The left secondary is again loaded up. What do I do. I am 15 miles away from maz-max but I dont know if I will be even able to make it there. I checked my throttle cable it isnt to tight so that it is pulling on the throttle. I have all so removed the rats nest, so I pretty sure it aint a leak. What should I do?

I'd have to check with my dad to be 100% but sounds like either a stuck or broken float.

Bad needle valve/seat, possibly bad float but not likely. The valve isint shutting for some reason allow it to flood in that one chamber. The sec fills with fuel cause its closed at idle completely.

A simple fix that you may be able to do on the road and for little $$$ is to get a dial-adjustable fuel pressure regulator to drop your fuel pressure a bit which will at least take some of the load off of the aging needle valves and seats.

It's been awhile since I worked on a carb 12a, but that's what I had to do with my SA22 to keep the carb bowls from overflowing into the intake and flooding the engine.

For about $20 and 1/2 an hour of time, you can dial the pressure down to 2-3 PSI and at least get it started up again and running. Dial down to zero if you think it's getting flooded and then crank it over until it clears out. Set it to 1 to start and idle and then drive it from there to see when you get leaning - don't expect any WOT runs for any length of time - you are running at maximum lean condition since the bowls will not be filling fast enough to keep up with engine demand.

At least it gets you back on the road until you perform a proper carb rebuild. HTH,

try just pulling the fuel pump fuse well running and let it run till it stalls out then pump a few times try to start till it wont start no more then put the fuse back in see if it still happens had the same prob the other night with another rx7 this fixed it.

Ok Im off to try and fix my baby. I am going to try and see If I cant get her running again. I will try that pull the fuse idea first. Then I will try the old fuel pressure trick. Then if that doesnt work ill cry a little and then come back and try again
