Cruising though ebay found something that has always been needed for our cars at a decent price. Sorry, GSL-SE guys not for you...

Like he said, its a racing component. For a drag race thats all the braking you need.

SE brakes are almost the same size and will likely have more swept area than those. The fixed, opposed piston caliper is nice,if not small.

Wouldn't these be sufficient for street use? I don't think you'd need the 4 pot setup.

These will stop you. The come in 4/110 & SE size. You can run stock SE caliper or aftermarket.

Also notice no drilled rotors. This is a good thing.

Brake Conversion for 1st Gen RX-7

There is a reason that all the high class cars are using 4 piston calipers. That single piston setup will stop you ONCE at the end of the drag strip, but if you are driving agressively on the street they will not be adequate. You will have to spend a fortune to get any better brakes than the 5 bolt stock 2nd gen brakes, which are 11 inch ventilated discs front and rear, with a very high quality aluminum 4 pot caliper on the front. I have these on my 84 GSL as shown on the first page of this site:

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/646433

These require 15 inch wheels. I use the BBS alloys from the 1990 convertible, which are very light. My machinist can make these conversion parts, if you can find the brakes. These brakes should be readily available.

This requires the use of 84-85 style struts (large axle) The rear conversion could be done for a drum brake car, but would require some engineering. You could get most of the benefit by just converting the front. If you don't have good fabrication skills, or a friend who does, I recommend you stick with the stock brakes.
