Rx7Carl and Sterling use *only* the Hygrade/Standard kits in their rebuilds because they come with metal replacement crush washers, and replacement checkballs and weights IIRC.
Whoever you were buying the kit from probably had the wrong part number for our cars and kept ordering the wrong damn kit.
I would NEVER buy a rebuild kit of any sort from Mazda. They have such an insane markup on almost everything for our car that it's almost always better to find out who makes thier kits and buy it from another supplier. The only exception I've ever found to that "rule" of mine is NGK sparkplugs. They are only slightly more expensive at mazda (less than a dollar each difference from other distributors) and they are more likely to have them in stock or be able to order them quickly.
That's why I want to find a Hygrade/Standard rebuild kit. Other kits for our carbs (like the one I once bought at Canadian Tire for $35) come with crappy washers made of gasket paper and no replacements for anything other than the seals. It's more a "re-seal" kit than a "rebuild" kit.
I don't even know if Hygrade/Standard sell in Canada under that name or at all. I may just have to drive down to the US and get one.
