CAn you fix/repair the accelerator pump..........

with the nikki carb on the car or do you need to take the carb off completely? My acc. pump is leaking gas (well it always has been ever since i bought it i just haven't fixed yet). The car runs GREAT but i smell gas and i know its from the leaky acc. pump on the side of the carb. i know the Accelerator Pump Diaphragm 12A is sold sepeartely for like 20 bucks so can i just replace this part with the carb on the car?

Yes - you can replace it with the carb on the car. It's a whole lot easier with the carb off the car, though, especially if you've still got the rats nest intact.

The hardest part is the e clip that holds the axle on. Its easily lost during removal and installation. Dropping it on the bench isint so bad, but drop it on the engine and youll probably never find it.
