Cool Can you fit 205/60-13 on a 12A without scrub???

Trying to find some High perf tires...but this is the closest I can find to the stock size. I ran a search and everyone seemed to like the Sumitomo HTR 200...but do you get any scrub???

Thanks,
BZB

205/60/13 is the standard size. That is what it should have anyway.

i just bought and installed 4 b.f.goodrich radial ta's 205/60/15 all i had to do was roll the wheel well fender lips up inside and it's okay. but they are BIG tires. **** i wore out a set of kuhmo's 205/50/15's in 6 months. and the set before that were 225/50/15's some off the wall brand. your okay running 205/60/13's and the 50 series tires.

Must have been weird offset.

I have 195/50's on 15x6 (I think... coldy, is that right?) and they are further away from the spring than stock tires. Then again the wheels have 10mm less offset than stock.

I could probably put 215's on with no problems, although that would be a bit big for the rim width.

205/60-13's will not rub if used on stock wheels. The main problem is the stock wheels are rather narrow for tires that wide, you'll ideally want some 13x7 wheels, and to run those you'll want zero offset, which increases the scrub radius (difference between steering axis and center of the tire) and increases steering effort and kickback. Not so much that you'll notice unless you pay close attention, but it's there.

Yup. I used to run BFG's in the same size years ago. We'll see how these do in the rain. Tread pattern looks good for wet road use so we'll see.

Question:

Why would you run the 13 inch stock wheels? If it's required for a certain race class, what happens if you have an SE, or at least the bolt pattern for an SE...

Do they just throw you in with the SE's? What if you've got a 12A?

Would 13 inch rims clear the SE brakes?

I assume the racing class is Spec 7... I dunno why, it just says Spec in it, so I assume it's all gotta be stock. I dunno my IT from my SP, C stock from E stock...

I have a thick *** SCCA rule book from 2000, but I'm not sure what to make of anything. It's all very technical... I'm not an inspector. I just wanna build my car and take it to the track.

They are GREAT in the wet Carl, I have yet to hydroplane with them and their cornering grip is very confidence inspiring. I've used them in two Solo events in the rain and did much better than I usually do in the dry.

Generally classes like that are for 12A cars only.

Well on the racecar I have to run 13's. (rules) 13x7 is what will fit legally. On that car I run 225/50 or 45/13 Hoosiers or 235/50/13 Kumhos. On the streetcar Im using 13's cause Im too cheap to buy new wheels. If you need help with the SCCA rules, ask me. Im pretty familiar with them.

Yea they kick major *** in the rain. I run them on my daily driver and drive as fast in the rain as I do in the dry on my dialy commute. Its sweet.

I'm getting a set of those HTR 200s in 185/60/13 for my other Fiesta when I (finally) get it running.
My friend who sells tires and speed parts can get them for $40 each shipped.
I haven't tried them, but have heard nothing but good about them.
The selection of performance tires in 13" sizes is pretty meager these days since everyone is going to larger diameter wheels. I wish Yokohama hadn't discontinued the A-008R autocross tires, mine are getting kinda hard and I have no idea what I'm going to replace them with.
