can you change the strut cartrige without removing the whole strut.

about a week i redid my front brakes and repacked the bearings, which was a huge pain in the ***.

I also broke a bolt that holds the strut on drivers side.
I have since drilled it out and run a new bolt and nut through,

I just recieved my tokico shocks and I thought i was getting a whole strut for the front.

all I got was a cartrige.

my question is, If I compress the spring while its on the car could I pull the strut out far enough to change the cartrige.

I dont feel like dismatling the brakes again, that sucked.

you wouldn't have to totally dismantle the brakes, just remove the caliper. all that takes is one bolt.

All you have to do is remove the caliper off the brake rotor. You don't have to dismantle all that.

You do have to take the strut off the car though.
Make sure you use the spacer with the tokico that goes in the cartridge or it will make noise. (where the arrow is). Unfortunately I learned the hard way, after trying to diagnose the problem for 2 days. I had to take them out again and put the spacers.

The spacer goes below this nut.

I think it will make sense when I get back down there.

Thanks for the pix, did you use both spacers or just one.
