Can stock carbs handle extend street port?
Can stock carbs handle extend street port and also if there is a way i can modify the stock carb to run well with street port? How bout bridge port?

No way even a modded nikiki will handle a bridgeport. You'll be lucky if a Yaw Nikki will feed a large street port properly. Hell, if your going to get a big port job, what good is it if you can't fuel it? Go with a Weber 48 DCOE or DCO or even a 50 if you go b-port.

racing beat street port templates, is what me and neoboi is going to use, neoboi is basically stock, just main cat removed (straight pipe), u think the stock carb can hang? what can we do to it to work?

Floats? can you explain to us what floats do? Do you think its more simplier to just upgrade the Carb? Will fuel pump be needed?
Thanks,
Brian

you will definatly want to get a new fuel pump.. something like a carter with a holley regulator..
i ma not all that knowledge when it comes to carbs, so you will have to wait until someone that knows what they are taking about to explain everything.. i just go by my experience (running a stock carb on a streetported 13b).
if you can afford to, i would definatly go with an aftermarket though.

The Nikki carb can work well on a large streetport 12A if it's modified properly. This means enlarging the venturis, machining the throttle butterfly/shaft assembly so it's less restrictive and grinding the top plate (or airhorn) for better flow. Porting the intake manifold can also help if it's done by someone who knows what they're doing. The carb would then need to be re-jetted to suit.
For a bridge-port I'd definately go aftermarket though.

I drove for about 23k miles with a street port and a dead stock '80 carb.
Never made more than about 130hp though. But it was a ball to drive. Excellent low-end torque and then it kicked your *** when it hit 5500. Then power would taper off after that. Oh well. Carbs cost money, porting is free.
