The OD says 80000, but then he tell you that it was changed so that engin could have like 250k on it.

The best point is the one made about the car never being allowed to warm up. The distance traveled is 5 miles round trip... the lazy bastard could walk to work...

Ok, on another note, the SAs odometers only went to 99,999 so it could have 80,000 or 580,000, there is no way of knowing. My SA has 105,000, but the odo says 5,000!!!

Oh and did anyone else notice the giant shift ****? come on, the shift in the SAs is long enough!

 

some of you guys are idiots sometimes. screw the milage!$1000 for an sa (light as hell) 7 with very little rust. My car is 6 years newer and rusted to ****. He obviously doesnt know **** about the car and neither does his mechanic. Lets see, no rats nest.... doesnt run right.... whistling noise... duh, vaccuum leak. easy fix and drive it home. It still runs so chances are good its rebuildable. I see a nice project car.

 

I wasn't saying that the car wouldn't be a good purchase, I was just saying that there is no way to know the actual milage of the car. I think that it would be a very good car to work on and have fun with. Hopefully an rx-7 lover will pick this one up and fix it.

 

I think the "carbons" he's referring to are carbon apex seals last used in production mazda's in 1973

 

I was looking in the FAQ the other day and the SA's are heavier than the FB's, and I was wondering why? I was under the impression they were lighter also.

 

mmm carbons...sounds like french candy...what does it matter how many kilometers are on the engine judging by the look of it, it could use a rebuild...you wouldn't be in your right mind not to in my opinion...oh by the way I friggen hate that shift ****...just nasty ugly

 

no rats nest and if the intake/motor was swaped to a 81+ it might be the shutter valve.... just a brain fart

I thought they were lighter too but if you think about it they may not be. They have the heavy thermal reactor (i dont know if its actually heavy, just what ive been told), they had metal bumpers reather than the plastic ones that the FB had, also had extra metal bracing behind where the storage bins are.

SHoudl go look up the curb weight

 

The thermal reactor wieghs 40 lbs.. seriously.... 20lbs heavyer then a stock manifold.

 

I've always heard they were heavier, but stiffer. For pretty much any class you'd want to race it in, you'd need to add weight, so I don't see that as a problem. My '79 customer car has about 50# of lead in it, and it's still not quite up to minimum weight, and it still has useless **** that can be taken off!

Time to tin the frame...

 

Hmmm, Interesting stuff. So the stiffer SA might be the better car on the track huh? I've been starting to really like the looks of them to, I used to think the 84-85's looked way better but I kinda like the bumpers on the SA now. Might have to pick one up to go with my 85 gsl-se.

Anybody got time to research the weights on the first gens?
