looks like a banjo fitting for a power steering pressure line. ide suspect it will be part of a new pressure line

As you can see the open hole, the fitting popped out when I was removing the hose and now it is stuck in the threads, is this the elusive power steering pump??? ORRRRRR?????

Yes there is a switch attached to it, and this "thing" is attached to the power steering reservoir as the photo shows, it was leaking and now I know why. I just cannot figure out what it is and Mazda has discontinued the power steering pump which i thought lived on the steering gear?

I cannot seem to find it, all high pressure lines I see do not include this fitting or the piece that broke off...GRRRRRRRRRRR

to my understanding the p/s setup tends to leak more power to you if your going to get it going. Honestly my wife drives mine every so often with no p/s and her lil 5' self has no issues ... just sayyin

I have no power steering..... awesome... lighter.. .not hard to turn once you are moving a little...
