So it costs 700 alone for the carb itself? if so...wow too rich for my blood. i was just thinking of getting a holley street carb for like 450 bucks and making my own intake mani with aluminum runners.

oh also on any weber carb, venturies are easily removable and jet changes take 1-2 minutes tops, (for quick jet changing), unlike a holley or nikki

i dont compete with anybody, you can get whatever you like from where ever you like....

Sorry, Rob. I didn't imply you were competing. You read it wrong. I was saying that Sterling was competing with the RB Carbs.

And what makes a Sterling carb any less new from his hands? Its not like our cars are very new.

When I logged on this morning I was happy to see so many posts on this thread. I thought there was an ongoing discussion about carb theory and air flow dynamics.
But to my dismay, though not at all to my surprise, I found that it is simply Robert hijacking a Sterling Nikki thread with pictures of his blingety carb.

Sweet.

Robert, you made yourself look like an *** with nearly every post you've made in this thread. You're acting like I'm a threat to your mighty empire, or something. You haven't added a single thing to the discussion on air flow dynamics, or the science of carburetion, or any explanation of just what it is technically that makes your carb superior to every other choice available. (-Oh yes, cept the "bling". I forgot.)

I didn't litter your introductory thread with photos of my **** when you got your own special section, did I? Why don't you go hang out there, and continue to be the simple salesman you are. Where ever you go, just stay the hell outta my threads unless you are there for some other reason than to ***** your product. I don't go for that ****. It's not MY fault you can't explain a single thing about how carburetors work.

The customers that you sell "bling" to are just exactly the type of customers I have no desire to deal with. Their priorities are not the same as my customers. I like to help my customers understand carb theory and what it is that jet changes are physically doing to the carb at any given RPM & load.
You just want to talk about yourself. Makes for a very boring and short conversation.

Tend to your own business, and stay the hell out of mine, Robert.

a sterling thread?!! LOL really? where in the thread title does it say sterling carb??
Can a Nikki carb be tuned to meet the holly and weber.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thread title....

"""Can you match the HP to the weber and the holly by tuning it?""

where does it say sterling? who the **** made it your thread?? i didnt know you were related to nikki!!!
as far as getting technical with air dynamics, wich most people dont understand, i pointed out some quick usefull facts// advantages that weber carbs have over a nikki carb....i have done extensive work and racing, professionally with nikki carbs myself and have suscessfully turbo prepped many nikki carbs wich you are still unable to do!! lol
as far as turbo prepped nikki carbs i am the only one that has done it, and still can do it, you need to chill out man...i have ALOT of expierence with nikki carbs and racing with them, do you?....i havnt seen you make 500 rwhp with a nikki so you need to stfu!!!

as far as hi performance goes the nikki is not a hi performance oriented carb, thats not what it was manufactured to be, so your very limited to what you can do with a nikki,,bottom line!!
you cant change the emulsion tubes, the air jets are hard to get to, fuel jets are hard to get to, want to change the venturies yourself? forget it, thier pressed into the nikki, any of these tasks can be done on a weber within minutes, and by a novice mechanic too.....

uh, technically, your not a paying vendor on this forum, so you shouldnt be tryring to sell anything on this forum, especially your 20 year old junk, asshiole

bring any nikki you build to the table and i will bring 48 weber will beat you in every catagory except price.. bottom line.. thats it.. done
i didnt want to be a dick, but you started it....

The thread is asking if a Nikki can be modded to match a Holley or Weber.

Sterling mods Nikkis, so he is well within his right to respond that in his opinion, they can be modded to do so.

Robert sells Weber intake kits, so he is well within his right to say that in his opinion, the webers can't be matched.

What wasn't acceptable about these posts:

- Robert, this is a discussion of Nikki tuning compared to Holley and Weber, which your last post addressed finally, but your others did not. BLING is not a factor.
- Let the readers of the thread decide how much they want to get into the physics and flow dynamics of carbs. I happen to be one of the people who *want* to know and discuss these things.
- You're also the only one who went swearing his head off in this thread. "who the ****" "stfu" and the misspelling of "*******" were totally uncalled for.

- Sterling, even though I understand that you and Robert don't get along, you can't ask him to stay out of "your" threads. The forum is for everybody. However if/when he steps out of line, report the post and he will be dealt with. I don't speak for any other mod, but I know I don't show prejudice between paying vendors and other users when it comes to laying down the smack.

Each of you have your own niche in the rotary performance market.

Sterling has the group of people who don't mind getting their hands dirty and learning, who like the 4bbl concept, and who want performance on a budget.

Robert has the group of people who don't mind spending the extra moulah for a brand new carb, who like 2bbl (either sidedraft or downdraft) and who either a) want something *they* don't have to learn the physics and tuning for or b) want something that's easy to tune.

Personally I like the streetability of a 4bbl, and I don't mind getting my hands dirty and learning how to tune it on my own. I don't have a *ton* of money to spend, but I do spend on my car. I have a Sterling. I've seen people with webers, and you know what? I think they're setups are respectful too. I've got KimFB's supercharged sidedraft as my background right now.

Robert, swear less, and try to make your posts less confrontational. No swearing or personal attacks, and when the discussion comes to carbs, keep it technical and on topic. In this thread "I believe webers are better because" rather than "Look at my wares, they look badass"

Sterling, as hard as it may be, when Robert posts, ignore him. You know you've contributed to the thread and its original subject, so repress the urge to respond to off-topic posts.

I was hoping this thread would become a constructive discussion of Nikki tuning and the pros/cons of Nikki Vs. Weber/Holley. Instead it has become a quarrel.

If either of you have problems with what I've said today, PM me. Robert, your swearing and calling Sterling an ******* (personal attack) has earned you a warning. See that it does not happen again.
