Can I use the S4 temp Sensor?

I searched but could not find an answer.
I did an S4 engine swap into my car. Can I use the S4 temp sensor for my original temp gauge to work properly?
Thanks

So as far as the resistance, what you are saying is that they are the same even though they are from different generations.
So in the end I will get a proper gauge reading on my temp gauge. Correct?

81-88 temp senders are identical. the 79-80 use a blade type connector instead of a bullet type in the 81-88.

Thanks so much guys. Now all I have to do is find the temp wire. I believe it's yellow with a white tracer.
