Can I shove a TII radiator in my 83?

I have access to a great condition TII radiator. I was wondering if this would bolt in, + I was wondering if I could use a TII Air-Oil cooler with this radiator.

with some fabbing I dont see why not, you will have to ditch all the radiator support stuff you currently have, you are own your own for brackets and for the brackets for the condenser

Mike is right on this one. It can work but you'll have to make new brackets for it all. Why do you want to change radiators?

If its am 88 model, it probably has a filler cap on it, sp you'll have to angle it. If its any other year, it won't have a a filler cap, and you'll have to change thermostat housings. With eithe rone you'll have to modify the TII upper radiator hose, the FB one probably won't fit. Too much damn work for a downgrade if you ask me.

Ok guys, all nice and easy... but get to this question then: if a TII rad isn't worth the work, then what rad do you recommend??? Let's say you have a engine conversion and "drop in" a 13B TII or, why not a RE or REW. You are going to need some cool water, yes? So, tell me: what'd be the best choice then?
I was thinking, if you can squeeze in a FC rad, you can squeeze in a aftermarket one for a FC too...
So those of you with monster turbo power: what rad are you using???

Stock.

BTW, If you're gonna Turbo in the future...

I recommend the short Three-row used in the 79-82's with the bottom mounted oil cooler.

Leaves you with less headaches later for a FMIC.

Hmm, that's just what's in there right now...
And indeed, I'm going turbo in the very near future. Planning a FD engine conversion. I know it has been done, so if anyone knows a link about this. Of course a link to a 13B Cosmo swap would also be very good.
Before anybody says I'm crazy: yes, I know I am. And yes, it should fit my budget. And no, it is not really legal overhere

The Sticky Turbo TII into GSL-SE thread on top will be your friend.

Familiar with that one... Just wondering about FD engine specific problems. Like the sequential turbos and stuff like that.

Ohh..Good luck. Maybe running them Non-Seq, but true Seq? EEEK. It looks like Medusa's head down there with all the vacuum lines, etc.

I'd recommend a "regular" TII anyday over an FD swap.

Yes, but then again, that'd make me a regular, yes? :-)
So, I'm going the FD route... I'll try to start out with the FD engine as a long block, using as many FD parts as possible. However, I will delete most emission controls, as I won't need them to pass smog test in Belgium. At least not in a SA/FB. So that'll save some vac. lines.
Still wondering about the gearbox...

Yup as DF mentioned, the stock SA rad and oil cooler is the way to go. Of course an aftermarket SA rad would be better, but the stock unit will work fine.

As for the FD engine we were just discussing it on ausrotary.com and believe that it will fit, with the stock turbos. Not sure about the FD tranny, I'm sure it'll fit but how? It also seems popular to run the twins non seq to save problems with the vac lines ( they cause probs a lot it seems).

Good luck with it though.

Stock early-style 3 row and stock air/oil cooler were plenty to keep my old half-bridgeport cool and happy in town with the A/C running in the summer, should be more than enough for for a turbo motor.....

Directfreak is right. Stock is all you need for a street car. Think about it, how long are you typically in the boost for??? About 10-15 max at a time. Because by the time 15 seconds go by you're doing 150mph So you're not making all that power all the time, just when you are boosting. Boost=power=heat. Otherwise a turbo rotary isn't much different than a n/a. Look under the hood of AJC-13B, you will find a stock radiator and he has close to 600BHP
