where are the igniters on the 81-85 cars? Are they in the same place that they are on my SA? (on some thing bolted to the front of the drivers side strut tower)

cause i'm on the lookout for the J109 igniters to do DLIDFIS... i still have a FB Dizzy from my 83 motor, but the SA dizzy is the one in my car now becasue i didnt want to swap the wiring.

 

the igniters are located on the sides of the distributor, the leading being the one closest to the radiator and the trailing being the one facing the alternator.

 

oh ****, then i already have them .... w00t

then i can just use j109's leading, and one of my j105's for the trailing... w00t.

and still use the 1980 dizzy. Damn i'm good

 

It doesn't matter whitch series igniter you use for trailing
or leading . so far i'm aware of 2 'types', same part, different numbers.
