can anyone tell me why my idle ..surges?

Okay, when I start it up cold it goes to 3k on the tac, then it hits about 1100 and stays,(too high, sould be at 800)But latly it goes up and surges from 8 to 15! It'll go back to normal after driving, and out of no where start surging again! I have spent alot of money making this 7 cool and to keep it running....I hate to say it but if I CAN fix this problem, on the next one it's gone!

If its not a GSL-SE then your carb is running too rich and a tad to fast, meaning you need to adjust the idle screw some. I have ran into this problem before, it makes it sound like a bridge-port engine but lower rpms.

My SE did that after adj. TPS, come to find out the first converter was shot. Or the one closest to the exhaust depending on how you look at it. Those first 2 are just small bricks and if you haven't taken them off yet it may be time.

There's an excellent article on how to diagnose and solve GSL-SE idle problems linked in the FAQ's post. I used it last weekend to solve my cars problems. The cool thing is that my Throttle Position Sensor was so far out that it solved my top-end miss problem at the same time. Here's the link: http://www.nellump.net/peri/epi/firs...gslseIdle.html

I've pulled my intake off this weekend and found out why my secondary actuators were not working, it's getting fixed now. One of the actuators was leaking signal pressure at it's mounting flange. The ports were a bit gummed up but it's all good now. I can't wait to get it running and see how it does.
