Camden SC pictures

Looking for some Camden SC pictures. Not in the car and installed, but of the SC itself, mainly the intake part and the engine manifold. Does it come with a manifold already integrated with the supercharger, or does it have a bolt on manifold?

The blower sits on top of a manifold with is bolted to the engine. It is held down with 4 bolts.

This is another view of the intake

This is what the rotors look like when spinning http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...ryrotation.flv

This is what the rotors look like inside once take apart.

And this is what a rotor looks like when a retaining pin snaps and they make contact at 8000+ rpm

and the charger without the intake

and finally an animation (takes a minute to download) http://natasha.eng.usf.edu/gilbert/h...ts_blower.html

Not with a camden. Just seeing how it gets on the engine. Gotta look at some CFM ratings and read up more on superchargers. I wouldn't mind running one with an intercooler.

Does anyone have the specs on a camden? How much CFM it pushes, max boost, etc? I know going too high will cause too hot of a temperature.

The only other SC for a first gen are these babies:

And those tend to have bearing failures, since they were meant for a low revving mustang engine.

if your thinking supercharger you should look into the twin screws like whipple, kenne bell, autorotor etc

I would love to do a Whipple 3.3l or even a 4.0 if it would fit

Any major differences between Twin screws/Roots/Centrifugal? I was thinking of a centrifugal because those seem to work better at higher RPMs.

If someone wanted to do a cheap supercharger project, look into using an OEM blower from either a 3.8 Buick/Pontiac motor or a blower from a 3.8 Ford Thunderbird supercoupe. Those blowers are Eaton (roots style) blowers.

I have seen them sell for $75-150 on ebay.

I have researched it a little. It seems like the Ford supercoupe version might be easier to adapt.

If someone had access to tools to fabricate brackets, etc. it coulb be a neat project to try!

Thats the ones I was looking at. I am in a thunderbird forum but cannot find how much cfms it pushes and whatnot. I found one on ebay for dirt cheap which I am bidding on right now. Hopefully he will throw in the intercooler, but I might just put it together with the W/A intercooler I have at the house.

if your looking for an inexpensive setup then at least go with the 112 eaton

I attached some pictures of a Lysholm Opcon Autorotor 3150 unit I have. These used to be imported by both Kenne Bell and Whipple... This has the axial inlet which means the air inlet is in the back http://www.textiform.se/autorotor.pdf I got it off craigslist for 250 bucks

The super coupe and the Buick/Pontiac 3.8's use an Eaton M-90

Go here and you can download the performance maps of the m-90

http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/Market...tion/index.htm

I was thinking it would be cool to mount the blower on the driver side....go through an intercooler and then blow through a carb.

Would be a cool project.

The pictures above are right after I stripped the paint. It was painted for this RX-4 project.

Then it went on this engine.

In this car.

I really would like a Camden supercharger for my project old school. It is very old school hot rodding and would make for good driveability. I just hate the fact that you don't get more bang for the buck out of the Camden.

From what i understand, 175-200HP max. I wish some folks could show us some dyno slips with all of their mods.
