To swap from 83 GSL brakes to 84-85 GSL-SE you need to change a lot of hardware.

-You need big bearing 84/85 Spindles (Front)
-GSL-SE caliper bracket/dust shields (Front)
-Rotors and wheel bearings/seals (Front)
-GSL-SE Front and Rear Caliper Assys
-Large Axle 84/85 Rear end with GSL-SE axles.
-Rotors (Rear)
-Wheels (F/R) as GSL-SE is 4x114.3 with a different offset requirement.

That should just about do it. GSL-SE parts are really hard to find also...

Also be advised that some 1983's have small bearing front spindles and other large bearing. Not sure I remember the build dates. There was a switch in the ramp up in production to the 1984/1985 models which are all large bearing spindles. The GSL-SE stuff requires the large bearing spindle.

my 83 GSL has big bearings but I took it to the mechanic and he swap the rear end and the front from the 85 GSL SE but he told me that he use my 83 GSL front calipers and I was wondering is they the same or not

Finding the rear calipers for a GSL-SE can be a hard find. But not impossible. The rear passenger one to be specific.

If the goal is to convert the rear to GSL-SE 4x114 then yes. You will also need to change all brake parts to GSL-SE also. Not sure why you just didn't just swap the entire rearend.
