A/C rebuild question'

OK, I lost all my freshly installed R134 out the compressor,,,my question is, are the seals the same thing as o rings...and if so, has anyone ever tried succesfully to remove the damn hex screws that i think are underneath the hose fittings,,,,i cant make them come loose at all,,,will i need an impac wrench? thanks,,,,

Yes, they come off, and there are plain O-rings under there to seal things up. No special gaskets needed. Just keep trying on the bolts. You might want to try one of those "Hit it with a hammer impact drivers". If you find the shaft seal to be the culprit, they are available (I got mine at NAPA), and I was able to install it without any special tools. That was about 2 years ago, and it held just fine until just recently... but I seriously over-pressured the system recently (oops! pay attention, dummy).
