A/C Question PT.2
Ok I've got the white solenoid and hooked it to white plug... Now do I need to hook vacuum to both sides of solenoid or cap one off and which one gets the cap? This is all new to me, but to please the other half I'm gonna hook it up. Make her happy = money will flow to keep the '7 gods happy!

If I remember correctly, one hose goes from the intake manifold to the bottom of the solenoid, then the top hose on the solenoid goes to the throttle opener. Assuming you have the stock carb.
The way it works is, intake manifold vacuum is applied to the throttle opener which bumps up the idle when the AC is on due to the extra strain of the compressor. So, when you hit the AC switch on the dash, it engages the AC clutch on the compressor, and also opens that solenoid switch which allows intake manifold vacuum to open your throttle.

If you have a manual choke, you might be able to just close the choke a little to bump up the throttle to make up the difference of the compressor drag, or you may not need to do it at all. Just try and turn on the A/C with the switch and see what happens. If you have a problem with the car dying, youre going to need to improvise something.
I dont know if that solenoid HAS to be there for the compressor to kick on when you hit the switch or not (I kinda doubt it). If so, you can just leave it there with no hoses attached. If not and you dont need it, toss it back with the rest of the rats nest.

I'm had the same problem. I have a mikuni setup. Make sure your timing is right and then set your idle to about 1000rpm. It's still going to drop, but not enough to stall. It worked for mine. The white solenoid is for the stock carb.HTH
