A/C Delete
Who here has removed their Air Conditioning system?
What did you remove, (besides the obvious condenser, compressor, etc)
I am looking for pictures of what relays, and wiring, etc under the hood that
you removed.
I am trying to clean up under the hood.
I will Archive it and give you five forum bucks to whomever can
make it nice, clear, and easy to understand.

well to start with there are at least 3 different systems.
the most common one in the us, is the sanden/port installed unit. its found mostly in the 81-85 12a cars, although it might occur earlier. its identified by the sanden compressor, and the 1 peice hose assembly attached to it.
the nippondenso system is the next one, its most common on the 84-85 gsl-se's, also see it on the 84-85 12a's with ac and ps, and sometimes on the 83's, and 79-80 cars. this one uses an ND compressor, and uses better fitted aluminum piping for the majority of the system.
the other system ive seen was on my 79, its aftermarket.... used hoses with hose clamps....
anyways, all the systems come out basically the same way. the compressor unbolts from the bracket, bracket comes off the motor.
lines unbolt from the firewall, radiator unbolts from side brackets, condenser and all that stuff up front unbolts, and then you can lift it all out in 1-2 assemblies.
under the dash there is an evaporator, which can be subbed for the evaporator delete duct (NLA new...)
electrically, its pretty simple, because theres no condensor fan or anything.

I can't remember about relays and stuff, but there really isn't that much electrically for the AC system besides basic stuff. The biggest stuff is all the emission stuff as far as electronics goes. Under the dash, if you can find a couple of those delete pieces .. let me know i'm looking for one. Other wise I'll be making my own. I have to sit my computer in that section, and may have to be altered anyways.
thanks for the tip on using the mazda plugs to plug where the lines went (I presume you're talking about the floor plugs correct?)

I bought a duct without the evaporator for non-A/C equipped cars...
It came in a package shaped like an RX-7. There were other spare parts in it, like an engine and drivetrain and interior too...

I have an AC delete duct, as I'd like to put AC back in my GSL-SE. I've got an old set of lines and compressor which I can't vouch for anymore. If someone wants to trade a freshly-disconnected and corked AC system, I'll pay shipping and send my AC Delete duct for 84-85 (may fit others)
