Bye all

That's it; I got back home to hear a message from my secretary that Ryan had emailed me. Full of whining and swearing about this decal business. Now Jeff is threatening to ban me for "Post whoring", specifically posting info on how to apply vinyl stickers to cars.

Thank you to all who saw that I was just trying to help the forum.

But **** you ***** mods, it was a favour to you. Delete my posts, accuse me of ****, threaten to ban my IP blah blah blah I've heard worse from better than you

Sending **** to my company email addy is the last ******* straw.

Manntis made those vinyl stickers saying WWW.RX7CLUB.COM, and the mods and owner of the domain name got all pissy and PMS'y because they thought he was selling them to make a profit, when in reality, he was selling them at what he was buying them for, therefore promoting the site at his cost. Actually, he was taking a loss because he didn't sell nearly all the stickers he got made.

Then he tried to make a post that explained how to apply the stickers that he did give out as promised to the people who bought them ahead of time, and the mods deleted it.

This is the never ending saga of the vinyl decals.

If they were smart, they'd just drop it, talk to manntis, and leave it at that, because I don't know about you guys, but I'm finding this forum a little less fun to be on with all this BS going on.

I'm about ready to just never post here again...

HOW DOES THAT SOUND MODS? A FORUM WITH NO MEMBERS? THEN IT WOULDN'T BE A FORUM, NOW, WOULD IT? IT'LL JUST BE YOU THREE GUYS LEFT. OR MAYBE A ROTARY ENTHUSIASTS FORUM WITH NO 1ST GENERATION MEMBERS...

I really find it disappointing that you guys can't think of a more suitable way of dealing with this... Deleting thread and stuff to keep other members blindfolded does't really sound fair to me. Perhaps you should allow the people to voice their opinions, seeing as how this is supposed to be a free country...

Ugh, this is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard of, and if I get banned for voicing my opinion here, I would like to let you know in advance, I will never encourage anyone with an RX-7 to join here again

Maybe I'm just too nice because I'm canadian

Jeff

Edit: sorry about the rant, I just have strong feelings about this issue right now, seeing as how it's so girly

Yeah, that's right, GIRLY! This sounds like something little girls in grade 4 would do to the poor , innocent little girl that doesn't get along well with the others to get her kicked out of class.... Quite lame guys...

Jeff

Man, thats a bunch of BS. You shouldnt have to leave just because you were trying to help the community...

**** that, its just wrong. Im at a loss of words to even describe how I feel. This is just so messed up. I kinda feel like its my fault for starting that thread up that you took over from . All I wanted was some damn stickers to show how much I love this place. Now Im gonna buy some stickers and put them on my car...But with another sticker that says "sucks" right next to it!! Then Ill have stickers made for nopistons.com and have the little calvin guy pissing on rx7club. This whole situation is just so juvenille. Why cant they just accept some free publicity? Damn...Even if he is making profit off this sites name, it cant be that much...I mean, the mods that own the site are probably making more from the advertisements anyway...If they payed someone to make stickers and advertise it would cost them money anyway, so why cant they just think of manntis as being the person they paid to get the stickers made!?!? I mean, hes not even making money off of them!!! Damn...Whatever

People join this forum because it provides a good free information service. Its funded by advertisements.

My understandind of the problem is that, Manntis in an attempt to give publicity to the site, unthinkingly breached copyright and had no thought of any collateral profit. This is really insufficient cause to take inappropriate action particularily when it relates to a member whose posts are always informative.

Lets have a little private correspondence between the parties involved, without a long public brawl with rather colouful language I can't find in the Mazda manual.

Lets drop this thread until the matter is cleared up in a friendly unthreatening manner. The plastic decals are a great idea if you have pride in the RX-7, I strongly believe Manntis was trying to help us all.

Peace and good rotaring- or is that another breach of copyright!

Manntis will be sorely missed. It's not that I don't like any of you, but Manntis is one of VERY few of us here that did'nt ever fuel flame-fires. He always added a refreshing bit of intelligence to threads he posted on.
I certainly can't say that about myself, but there's really only a handful here that it can be said about.

I've always felt that this was a "third generation Rx-7" site that also had a section for the first and second gens.

Everyone is welcome to join Mazspeed. But understand befor you come over- Flamming, foul language, and any other "Jerry Springer" type **** will NOT be tolerated.
So don't bother checking it out if you're looking to start a conversation about your girlfriend not swallowing your load. It simply is not tolerated, the thread will be deleted, and you'll be banned.
Come over if you want to talk about your CAR!

Let's all be very nice, and see how this pans out.

I replied to the thread in the Lounge. Read what I wrote and you'll understand that it's important not to keep calling Ryan things like "****" if we want Manntis back at all.
He might just appologize, concidering the general concencous about this matter; But not if he continues to get stoned by the masses.

Let him breathe a bit, and we'll hope for the best.

Then we'll stone him. (j/k)

I've been watching this for a while and I feel it's time to chime in...when the idea of the stickers first came up and then was picked up by Manntis, I remember thinking, "Didn't all this just happen a year ago?" Only then it wasn't stickers, it was T-shirts. At that time, the Mods stepped in publicly telling the guy that he couldn't do it because the whole thing was trade-marked, copyrighted, whatever, you get the idea...I kept wondering, as the Manntis Project kept building steam and he conducted lengthy "focus" group threads to tune his idea, why the hell the Mods hadn't stepped in yet. Their silence, to me, meant they didn't care about an insignificant thing like stickers...if they thought they could make money with this item, why hasn't it been done? If it has been done, why didn't they pop in and say, "Hey!...been there, done that, go here to buy the Official product." At this point, well past when action should have been taken, they need to think out of the box about this crazy situation. Myself, I would inform Manntis that we thank him for his efforts but there is going to have to be royalties involved on each sticker sold at a price, not a percentage, to be determined by myself. I would say a $1.00 or $1.50 apiece. He can then adjust his prices to reflect his new additional costs...I would actually keep him in the loop as a marketing arm as well. Clearly, they are not capable of rapid responses to market demands (the T-shirt debacle seemed to last forever...), so Manntis should be viewed as an asset to fold under the Forum wing instead of driving him away with lunatic behavior...

If they kick ANYONE off.... I know where I am going... cause I wont stand for this BS.....

Cause thats what it is BULL SHIIIIT!!!! I dont give a **** if they " BAN " me.... Boo Hoo.... there no more forum ..... You know.. this isnt the ONLY forum for us... MAYBE we should have Manntis start up a forum on his site for FIRST GEN ONLY PEOPLE!!!! So we wont have idiot mods..... We would then have an intelligent, outgoing, HONEST, polite, moderator.... Who actually puts and effort fourth..... Who isnt all talk... Who could ellect another mod, if he couldnt always monitor/help the forum.... Like when Mike-P-28 wanted to be a moderator... I would think that you people would let him be one, for the sole fact that you people dont usually chime in/help/be here as much as him... he wanted to be a mod....

ANYWAYS.... I dont really like to perticipate with a forum, with ****** as the moderators....

so if you moderators cant get your **** together... then

Cause I dont want to be a part of the BS inc. forum...

And to TJ... Yeah... I will do that too if this is gonna be, what it is turning out to be....

Laterz, Andrew....

well put! that's how i feel about this. i mean, i don't know any of you guys personally, but i like coming here to see what you guys talk about and quite frankly, i'm a member of a few other boards (MR2, S4 and VR6-GTI) and this is the best of all of them. either the others have shitty organization (S4 and GTI) or they are filled with rich-boyz that whine a lot (MR2) ... either way, the Gen I board is by far my favorite and i actually felt a connection and loyalty to it.

hell, compared to the Gen II board, right here on this very site, this board is several steps above ... i found that the Gen II board is childish at times, and they have some really redundant, and stupid posts (that's just my opinion), but the Gen I posts seem to be filled with the "realest", most down to earth people ... and many of you guys actually know what you're talking about (peejay, revhed, manntis, directfreak, sterling, mike-p-28, rxcetera, jeremy ... and the list goes on and on ... those are just off the top of my head) ... but yeah, this thing with the mods vs. manntis is really a step down to kindergarten.

manntis~
i, for one will miss you. however, i fully understand why you're leaving and i fully support it. peace, bro - and it would be nice to keep in touch ...

mods~
you guys "may" have had a valid beef (i realize it's just a matter of perspective), but it could have been handled a hell of a lot better than how you did it. and yeah, this forum is nothing without members. and i'm sure that if you lose people, you will still retain enough to function, but i would dare to say that, it won't be the same.

i'm not going to take this into a "censorship" issue and talk about this freedom-nonsense, because let's face it, this country is far from free ... but i just look at it as this, he had nothing to gain (well, if he were dishonest, then okay, he could have turned profit - but he didn't. in fact, he LOST money, and a lot of it!) and this site (and the people who created it) had EVERYTHING to gain ... it may be more complicated than that, but if it is, then someone needs to explain it to me.

okay ... that's my shpeel

So the guy made an honest mistake. I think he only sent out decals to like 19 people; big deal. It didn't hurt anything, but in fact, helped to promote the forum. I'm sure it won't happen again, because now he knows that he isn't really supposed to be doing it. Mods please have a heart.

Sincerely,
Amanda

Guys, Ryan has emailed me an apoligy for this fiasco.

I asked him to please return my, and our, emails in the future more expediently so things like this can be avoided. Hopefully they'll think twice before unilaterally deleting threads, creating an air of mistrust and manipulation.

In the heat of disagreement I believe both Ryan and I were less than gentlemen and I'm sorry everyone else was dragged into it.

Wow. I'd no idea you guys were so solidly behind me. Thanks!

those anti-Canadian cracks pissed me off, but why keep feuling his rants? I was in combat defending democracy while he was learning how to delete threads, so I've nothing to prove
