that buzz can save your motor. otherwise find the buzzer under the dash and unplug it.

Except it isn't under the dash - it's in the instrument panel for most of the years.

There's a post about changing the resistance to make it go off at much higher rpms. Use the search button and have fun.

Taking the motor over 7k wont necessary hurt the motor.

Most people don't even know about the buzzer because most of them don't work haha

Hey does anybody know if they have the buzzer in the rx8. It would be cool if they had it since they kept it all the way up till the FD

Mine has the buzzer too, comes on at like 6500, I like it. It's a good thing, u don't have to look at the tac to know it's about time to shift.

Yeah seriously, i don't have a problem with it. When that thing buzzes i need to shift anyways, so it keeps me in control. And if you have it, you will know it. Things are fricken LOUD and obnoxious. But hey, i love em.

the rx-8 has the same type buzzer as the 93-95 U.S. spec cars. as far as i know, it is also the same at any other trim level from 93-2000.

I wonder if all mazda's have the same buzzer. I don't see people taking their regular piston engine car to redline like we do with our sevens though

The STi has a buzzer and a shift light. Well, I guess you could call it a buzzer... It is a series of three beeps that sound when you pass a certain RPM. The buzzer is totally adjustable from a **** on the gauge cluster. It is set from the factory at 6500 because that is where the STi makes peak power, but I hear what you are saying, bro. I totally agree that the buzzer is awesome.

Mine sounds at 6500rpm's........I would be cool with keeping the buzzer. Is there a way to turn down the volume?......it just so darn loud!!

I like the buzzer - I'll redline just so I can hear it talk to me, but mine doesn't go off until 7k.
