Question Buying a new 7

My friend is thinking of buying a 7 we found its a 84 12a GSL. We went and looked at it, it has new shocks new brakes new tires new snow tires its lowerd about a inch. work has been done on the exaust the rats nest has been removed but the vaccums are not pluged interior is new has sun roof with the glass and metal one. But he says when it warms up the motor smokes he says that he had it in a shop and they told him he needed to replace a o ring do you think this is it and could the rats nest not properly removed make the motor smoke. its only for 800 so do you all think it is worth it the replaceing a o ring is fine but if the motor is blown i dont think we would want it need some help thanks.

the o ring hes refferring to is in the engine, so replacing the o ring is an engine rebuild.

I say that if you don't have other more important obligations (i.e. - kids, wife, house to pay for, or anything that requires tons of money that you don't really have) then just buy it regardless. You only live once. If you get it running right it will be one hell of a car, and the more problems the car has - the more you can learn from it.

This is all assuming that the car is cosmetically in good shape.
