Welcome aboard!!! Read the FAQ at the top of this forum. It'll get you started and answer alot of your questions. And yes, if the car is in great shape with only 29K, it's a great deal!

you only have to add 2 stroke if you're oil metering pump (OMP- adds a small amount of oil into the carb to help lubricate internal seals) is removed or you know it's not working.

Racine suucks!!
Take the 7. Not for 2.5k though, it's ur uncle for christ sake. Plus the seat has tears and the carpet is fucked up.
These cars arn't fast stock but they'll be enough to get you around til you find a job and have enough money to mod. Don't put an "exhaust" do it right for god sakes.
Racing beat is the only way to go for exhaust. Read the FAQ and search the forums before posting questions.
me and a friend have a lotta history in that old town, and I've neevr even set foot in there but that's another story.
If you need some help feel free to PM or AIM me.
Good luck..

I paid $1700 for an 85GSL (leather seats, PS, PW, etc) with 49k 2 years ago. It's hard to see anything over $2k for an 83 with torn seats, etc., even with low miles. The neglect acts against the low mileage. But the 83 was a nice car and I still enjoy driving my 83 more than the 85GSL or the 85SE. Even so, and even tho the original Misty Blue still gleams like the day I bought it, I'd be surprised if I could get over $1500 for it. Thus, it's not for sale.
Even with working OMPs in my rotaries I still add 6-10 oz. of Idemitsu, 2-cycle oil or MMO to evry tankful. Engine runs smoother, and the way I figure it, the rotary has the same lube problem that a 2-cycle has, so added lube in the gas helps combustion chamber lube.

Terrified.
A car that has sat that long I would be afraid would just start leaking oil like crazy from where the housings meet the irons. You also have to think about the age. We are talking about a 23 year old car now, it was fast then, by todays standards it is slow.

So you're going to pay $2500 and then put another $2000 into it? For that $4500 you can find a REALLY nice RX7 that you won't need to do spend hundreds of hours working on. Look in the 'For Sale' section on the forum and track some in Ebay. I bet cars in the same condition as your uncles don't go for any more than $1000. You'll find that if you have an interesting car people will always come up to you and say they'll buy it from you for some very high price, but those guys never actually buy. I very seriously doubt that $4000 offer was serious.

Actually i doubt this story is that bad, the car has been started semi regularly, I bought mine after it sat for 10 years in a barn, did the basics and now drive it about 1000 miles a week reliable and fun. Mine had 130,000 miles, yours sounds oK to me, but try to get the price down.
Before you do any mods, read everything you can in here, talk to the knowledgable people, you'll soon see who they are and plan what your goals are.
Your Fb isn't going to whip and C6 Corvettes soon but the fun factor is amazing
And welcome to the dark side.....
Oh you may decide to restore that one and buy a higher mileage car for your project high powered car, that's the route I am taking.

Turbo isn't a no no, just take a little time and check out the options, Robert from Rotaryshack is a great guy to help out with all sorts of parts and will help you with a plan. 13BT will cost about $1300 to purchase and stock will give 200 HP.
Rotaryshack is in the vendors section.
