hey there i have a question.. i am going to repaint my center console and dash area grey again
when i took out the piece that is infront of the middle console compartment there is a button that says push, like its in the group where you would put like spare change and stuff
im curious as to what it does?
any help is appreciated. thanks

 

If you're talking about the 85 dash (as in your profile), then that "Push" button opens the swing out ashtray,

thats not what i meant. i know what you are talking about
i mean the compartment between the 2 seats.. there is like a tray with this switch that i can turn on or off but it doesent seem to do much...
its on an 83 rx7

 

does no one own an rx7 that has this switch? im very curious as to what its supposed to do...

well on my 83 there is a button between the seats for the cruse control, the windows and the rear whiper. my guess is you are asking about the cruise control switch. you have to turn it on before you can use the controls on the arm off the steering wheel.

on my car it would be number 4 from the picture above..
i guess it possibly most likely is cruise control but im not sure... it doesnt seem to do anything but that could be cause im not crusing
