im good with a welder, and i might just do that, but, will the moser axles for a gsl se ( need the bolt pattern of it) work with a base model 84 rx7 3rd member, i know its too long for the gsl se but since is an open diff is it also narrower, has anyone tried gslse axles with a base model housing and gears,?
still looking for solutions,.. thanks for the help so far

Well, poo...I was hoping the stock 81 GSL rear in my car would hold up to the S5 TII motor as long as I didn't launch this **** outta it. It would be more like rolling into the throttle. How much hp does that motor make stock anyway?
