Build a wire harness??

I was hoping to buy a brand new wire harness from Painless Wire Harnesses, but they do not ofer one for our vehicle's. How hard would it be to build a wire harness from scratch, or is there someone else that makes pre built ones?

The hardest part that I've run into, I wanted to do the same, is finding all of the different types of wire. It would suck trying to build it out of only six different colors that you can find "off the shelf".

Otherwise you can get a large board, lay out the old one and mark the length of all of the wires and what they go to. Then use that as a templete for the new harness and just leave off the stuff you don't want.

FYI, I saved ~5lbs by removing alot of "un-needed" wires, and could have taken out more. I just labeled my harness and unwrapped it and cut/removed most of what didn't go to anything on my car.

I have one of those catalogs, (about 3 years old now though) funny how long you can dream about wiring, switchs and connectors, LOL.
