The guy saved HIMSELF $3. I paid a flat rate of $30, then got billed an additional $61 from UPS for their brokerage and 'disbursement' fees (basically you have to pay them $5 for the privelege of paying them the rest of the fees)

Of course all that is moot now, as the package has disappeared from their Port of Winnipeg receiving warehouse...

EDIT: apparently there were 2 packages with identical tracking numbers shipped within the past few days. Someone somewhere received my package, and theirs is where mine is supposed to be.

Of course, UPS doesn't bother to look @ the waybill on the one sitting there but just says they have no idea who has mine...

I'm not sure. I know he declared a value of $180, but is that considered UPS insurance?

BTW it's a middle-aged guy, not a kid
