Brake troubles

Since i've had this car it's been one thing or another (gotta love them rotaries )

My brakes no longer work, was drivin along, and all of a sudden i had no pedal at all.

I've bled my brakes over and over with no change. The system isn't leaking fluid anywhere. Pads rotors and drums are all within specs. checked the vaccum lines, and have no pressure loss there. so that leaves me with only one option...

MASTER CYLINDER...

The thing is the cap that is on the resivoir doesnt seem to fit right, the threads on the res look fine, so i'm wondering if this is even the right cap, and if it's not could that be where all my pressure is going?

There is no pressure in there when you push the pedal. If there is no fluid loss at all and the pedal is soft then you need a new master cylinder. If the pedal drops slowly when you push on it, you need a new master cylinder. If you have to add fluid but you don't see any leaking anywhere, and the pedal is soft it may be leaking back into the vacuum res. and filling it up. And you need a new master cylinder.
