Brake swap

ok I have read many of post. but to be sure before I buy, I want to swap the front to GSLSE on my 85 GSL. Do I just need Front Rotors/Hubs, Calipers, and pads? With all that can I directly swap? or do I need struts to?

the spindle is the same for SE and Non_SE model's IIRC. The strut insert are the same also. The only difference is the hub (bolt pattern), rotors but I cant remember the calipers.

The calipers are different also. The strut inserts are not the same though. When you are using the Se housings there is a spacer of some sort that is supplied when you buy tokico struts that allow you to use them either in the Se or non-se applications. If you notice you will not see a Se strut application made by KYB. Also you will see the application different from the OEM and those who were offering aftermarket like Monroe, gabriel, etc....

If you are using the GSL strut housing you do not need the SE struts, just use what you have.

On the rear you will also need the ebrake cables off of the SE.

Somebody hasn't been doing thier homework, lol. If you want to make it simple, swap the entire front strut assembly and the entire rear end assembly, including all brake components, hoses and rear e-brake cables.

^^ true that is a much easier swap, but if im not mistaken frostycrowd is in college. which means one thing, budget. buying a full SE suspension can be very expensive when compared to buying just those parts.

yes, its more work, but its cheaper. so you have to decide which is more important to you, time or money.
