Question Brake hardline fittings (need to know size)

Im trying to redo all the hard brakelines in my car before i switch over to my new suspension. but im having trouble finding out a couple things.

1) can someone tell me what size the fittings are that slide over the steel hardline? Ie. m8, -3?

2) where can i buy these fittings? I'm having an insane amount of difficutly just trying to find these stock fittings. so any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
shawn

p.s. if its unclear which fittings i need. they look similar to these:

All I did was go down to my local parts store and grab some metric brake line of varying sizes with the fittings attached. I don't recall the size. You shouldn't have any difficulty unless you own a SA which has coarse threads.

If in doubt, bring one down to the store and compare.

well, its an SA. but its getting 85 brakes and suspension. I know that autozone sells them. but you have to buy it with the line already on it. and since im going to be doing alot of plumbing, long and short lines. i was hoping i could just buy a roll of line, and then a box of fittings. The line isnt a problem. just finding the fittings. would you happen to know what size they are so when i call around i know exactly what to ask for?

Here in Louisville, I bought mine from Bumper to Bumper. The fittings are, I belive, 10mm with 1mm threads, and a standard flare, not bubble flare.

I just called the one on Broadway because they deliver to my work I'm sure any of them would have it...I'm not sure about the master cylinder thread, but would be willing to bet it also uses the 1mm pitch, just a bigger size.

So, you ever gonna come AutoX with us?

im planning on it. every season i keep hitting snags. (like, people running into my cars.) i wanted to give it a shot late last season, but the brakes on the 79 were so bad, i didnt even like driving it around town. i should have my suspension on by next month. so, ill definatly be ready this time. looks like ill be running in csp with you and james. i cant wait!

yeah, the hard lines are crusty, and most of the fittings have corroded to the point that they just round off when you turn them. It shouldnt take but a few hours once i get the car up and get prepaired. just one more small step to completion.

yea sounds good dude. Dont' wanna risk your safety on 25 year old rusty lines. Plus your going to all 85 brakes and suspension right? front and rear?

YUP YUP. so, ide have to change the fittings either way

i completly tore down the gsl rear. Sandblasted and rust proofed the housing. Then replaced the outter bearings. the only thing i have left to do on that is make the new brake lines.

The front end is a different story. I rebuilt the calipers last year, but theve been sitting, so i need to clean them up a little bit. all the bushings are new. i really just need to buy a few more things, and install the coilovers. then ill be set. Shouldnt be much longer.

Sounds like you've made some progress. Lemme know if you need a hand or any kind of parts. I got a garage full of stuff.
