Brake/align/Driving me crazy

Alright, i just changed by brake pads, and notices they wore a wee bit slanted. With my new pads in, whenever i make a turn i hear the brakes rub. Left or right, hard or soft. Anyone have an idea of whats causing this? I think it may be the 1" drop that i have on my car, but hell if i know. Im going to take it to an alignment specalist here as soon as i get some free time, but any other ideas/fixes would be appreciated.

Sounds like a sticky caliper piston. Are all the brake hardware installed too? (ie. backing plates and springs)
Try pushing the pistons back into their bores. Check to see that it seats even with the caliper.

yep caliper rebuild kit with new bolts with the backing and clips that Gary is talking about will always help keep those pads to wear evenly and prevent any damage to your ever so prescious drilled and/or slotted rotors.

WASS UP GARY...ill be removing the steering column later today and gathering the rest of the bolts on the ground to add to the 5lb bag that i already have.
literaly the bag really weighs about 5lbs.
Was that you also asking bout the drive shaft? If you need one I have it off of my crashed 84SE it should fit your 85 right? PM, me or e-mail w5ideryn@hotmail.com.

Sounds like sticking calliper slides to me .... single pistons so no chance of a sticky piston causing uneven wear across the width of the pad

As a rule you should clean and lubricate the calliper slides when you change the pads.

yup, clean the slides with steel wool and then grease them with synthetic brake grease. Make sure they slide real easy.
