Borla presilencer
Borla presilencer
Some one one this board was kind enough to advise me to get a Borla presilencer to quiet down my SE. Can someone give me a part number for a suitable Borla product? The Speed Shop guy says he can help if I know what one I need.
Anyone help?
Thanks,
Mike

racing beat makes headers, presilencers, ehaust manifold replacements, or cat replacements...its what the majority of us use.

If you're running stock SE intake ('6'-ports), then you're going to need that feedback tube that's normally part of the main cat. The Mazdatrix presilencer is simply a RB unit that's been modified with the proper feedback tube in place.
I have this setup on my SE and it works great, operating the '6'-ports at right about 3800 rpm like clockwork.

If you don't want to do that, you can mount an airpump (like for bike tires) along with a RPM switch that will activate it at a specific RPM. There is a writeup in the 2nd gen section.
