Question bonez cat and california smog

Ok, I've done the search, but i just want a confirmation. I'm new to RX-7. I'm in the process of installing a new rebuilt (from check point engineering) 12a into a 82 body. I've read different posts of the bonez cat and this lovely state of california (unless you are a gearhead, then kali sux!) Here is what I want to know.

Has anybody failed the visual portion of the cali smog test because the have the bonez cat on it? I've read posts of people that passed it, and i've read posts that said it might not pass because of the 3 section stock cats.

let me know!

Thanks,

Alvin

I doubt it you will not pass the smog test because of the visual inspection. You have to remember there are hardly any cars that have three cats. Most cars will have the most two cats. Our cars are rare,and the chances of a technician having the knowledge of our cars are slim to none. Good luck and please let us know what the outcome is.
