Please don't get 17's. It's a sports car. It'll look ugly imo. Get some meshies or look around on ebay, or in the wheels for sale section. You'll find something. Oh ya, the 79-85 1st gens are 4x110 bolt pattern if its not a GSL-SE. The GSL-SE bolt pattern is 4x114.3

Oh ya, its your car, so do what you want. Thats just my opinion. God bless

Rear disks?

Has the rear been converted to an SE type?
If so you may have 4 on 4.5" (114.3mm)

you can have rear discs and still have the 4x100 bolt pattern.

is covered in greatere detail other places but

1979-1985 S,GS,GSL = 4x110 rear drum and disc
1984-85 GSL-SE = 4x114.3

I am not sure if u need any more tips here hehe

-i can give ya all a brilliant adwise:::::::::::::::

-I have talked to an dude who sells wheels and tyres and ATVs
-reason i called him is I saw that he had 17" on his ATV, and most ATVs have the same bolt pattern as your 1gen(4x110).. I was correct, they had calculated, measured on this and figured out that =U can use FORD a.o. wheels(4x108)=

peace from violataz

You can use for 4x108 wheels with the 4x110 bolt pattern, but the stresses put on the lugs when tightened to the chamfer in the wheel are very high. So high actually that it could severly weaken the lug bolts and they will snap off real easily. Metal bolts and studs DO NOT like side loads and bending very much and shear off easily. 2mm difference doesn't sound like much, but for something like a wheel, 2mm might as well be 10mm. Accuracy is everything with wheels and personally I wouldn't wanna risk anything.

On a side note, go to www.adaptitusa.com . They have adapters for just about anything. Get a 1" adapter from 4x110 to 4x100. You can use wheels with a +40mm offset that are 7" wide front and rear that way with a 205 tire. I say 4x100 because most of the "tuners" are that exact bolt pattern and there are TONS of wheels with that pattern. Probably the second most popular bolt pattern next to the 5x4.5. Oh ya, the GSL-SE was 4x4.5 for those interested, which is 4x114.3. 4x4.25 is 4x108 which never came on any RX-7. Only ford and companies owned by ford used that bolt pattern.

Yes, atv's have the 4X110 bolt pattern. And why do you suppose they do, To fit on early Mazdas? No, so they won't fit on anything else on the highway because they are not built for a heavier vehicle like an automobile. I'm glad you live in Norway so we won't be sharing the same roads with that kind of advice.

I've got the standard chrome/black 4 spokes... Those were only made/sold in 4x110, right?

What was the bolt pattern for the 83 Limited Edition Waffle/BBS Wheels?

All 85 and older carburated Mazdas, except the REPU, imported to the US, are 4X110. There were 4 different wheel patterns offered for the SAs, 3 waffles and the Almex, 2 for the FBs, the + and the LE, and 1 for SEs in the 4X114.3 pcd.
