It means that it is a 4 lug pattern with spacing (of the lugs) of 110mm. They are very difficult to find aftermarket rims for. It is a weird pattern that pretty much only the 1st gen 7s use (there are a few exceptions). Search around on here and see what other people are using. Your choice is very limited unless you get some custom drilled rims. You can also use adapters (many people don't like them) or you can switch to GSL-SE suspension (has the more common 4x114.3 pattern). Good luck.

The adapters can be pretty expensive for good ones. They also space the tire out around an inch, so you will have to get a wheel offset that will account for the difference. Some people use adapters without any problems, but there are many people who do not like adapters. I guess they are afraid if the adapters will be safe.

You can get wheels such as Panasports. I think Enkei has some old mesh rims in this pattern as well. You can also get the 14 inch wheels off of an 83 Limited Edition. They are a mesh type wheel. Onlyonthus on here has some, I think. He painted the center black and polished the lip. Looks real nice. I think there are several threads that talk about what fits. Check out the 1st gen FAQ and the archive. Also check the 1st gen for sale section on here. Rims that fit will pop up on there from time to time. I don't know of all the rims that work offhand. I have a GSL-SE, so I don't really have this problem.

I might add that the 4X110mmm bolt pattern is shared by most pre-RX7 rotary cars with the exception of the RX5 Cosmo.

'83 LE wheels are great, BTW.

Yup yup find some 83's LEs like i did...they look damn good (personally i think they are the best looking stock rim mazda offered for the frist gen) and they fit perfectly. I hate that mazda gave us that lug pattern. SO MANY HEADACHES this lug pattern brings!

i bought them off of a member for 250 bucks!! but they were not like that when i bought them. I had to polish the **** out of them and i painted the centers balck with some special metal spary paint that has held up EXTREMELY well (surprisingly).

I still think that these were cooler. Almex made Mazda Type 3 Limited Edition Option, cooler than both the 79 LE and 83 LE and rarer, because it was a "you have to ask" dealer option, from what I've researched.

Old school Riken, Enkei, Hayashi, Or Epsilons are very nice if you can find them.

I have a set of Epsilons, They are very pricey, but you will find nothing nicer. Especially in a 3 piece modular racing wheel.

Go to tirerack.com and punch in your info. I think they have 2 different choices. These rims I have are 4x110 made by ROH. If you can find a dealer they are still availiable.

The whells you posted pics of are off a Mustang turbo. The 4cyl wheels. They may be the Saleen turbo wheels to blurry to tell.

No, the 4-bolt Mustang wheels are 4X108mm IIRC.

Man, I've got about 3 or 4 sets of old-school 13" 4X110mm wheels that I'd be real surprised if anyone has ever seen. I'll post a pic when I have a chance.

edit: whoops, someone beat me to it. I'm possibly the world's slowest typist.

couldnt the spacer help with cornering a little, by making the wheelbase wider? My friend got spacers for his 280Z and I think it gives it a pretty nice stance overall.
