You won't find a whole bumper replacement for the SA since it has steel bumpers. The only thing you will find are lips

That SA has a FB front bumper. It's an '80 based on the rear bumper rubbers, but the VIN places it in '79... odd.

It's got the Mariah Widebody on it. Rear bumper could have been replaced with an 80

Getting ready to get the old bridge painted? Or just looking to do a complete body kit. One of my buds here has a complete widebody kit for a SA. He intends on putting on a FB, but I am trying to convince him that's a bad idea. Alot of fabwork to get the rear quarter panels right.

Was used as a SCCA Production car back in the mid 80's so it has it's fair share of mixed bits on it I'm sure. Was told it has a posi rear end but haven't had the car up in the air yet to take a look and to check out the axle and brakes yet. Title is still getting sorted out by the state so no official word on the model year yet.

Based on the VIN as shown in one of the snaps, & the parts fiche, it's a 79 model from November of that year. Only 2 months older than my 80; that's what got me looking, as my VIN is fairly close.

well not really a body kit i just wanted to see the options because i can't find any good bumpers at any junkyards or online that don't need just as much if not more work than the ones that were on there when i got it from you

but yea im lookin at goin all week one week going junkyard to junkyard searchin for SA's
if i can't find any whole setups i'll probably do the stock setup

the only problem is that well if i do use the one that came on it well the straighting of the bottom bumper has one little dent that'll be a pain in the *** cause my teacher makes us straightin it no bodyfiller unless its an 8th of an inch or less =X

but i was lookin and trying to find out how much of a hassel it would be to take the whole set up off of my FB and just get the bumper cover from one of my friends dads that used to have an fb

would that work or look sketchy?

but i'd rather not bodykit it unless it looks basically stock or like the fb stock setup

oh and sam i have a thread started for the bodywork
some isn't up from today but i just cleaned out the garage and am getting the engine out of the fb and cleanin it up tomorrow

=X you got me hooked sam.
my honda has had valve problems for the past 4 months
haven't even cared to fix it just because i wanna save the money for parts for the seven haha

I'll confirm the November assembly month from the tag in the passenger door. If it is a 79 i'll be a bit excited as it's manufacturer is the same as my birthday.

I looked a little closer; I was half right.

That serial number IS within the November '79 build block:

But it's NOT a 1979 MODEL; it's an '80, as the serial numbers for '80's started at 568501 (mid-June '79 builds on):

So, based on serial number, you have a 1980 model that was built in November of 1979. The rear bumper is correct for the year.
