body swap idea

ok. ive been thinking long and hard today about this. Right now i have 2 GslSEs in my garage. Theyre both 84s and theyre both white. One runs and the other doesnt. The only thing is that the one that is running (the one that ive been driving for 5 years) has a lot of bondo, cracking bondo, cheap 1 day paint job and damage from 2 accidents. The other one that i plan to swap eveything to is totally clean and straight w the original white paint. It just has blown shocks, no brakes and no engine. I want to swap everything into it, like my grey interior (i cant stand the burgandy), suspension, etc etc. Im pretty sure somebody here has done something like this. I just wanted to know about how long do you think me and my friend can finish it. We were aiming for 2-3 days. I know its possible but dayyyyum! thats a lot of work. its gonna be fun

I would say take your time on the interior. I would be willing to bet that the dash assembly alone will take you a full day. The suspension and engine/tranny swap would be another day or so. I would say I think that 3 days would do it, but if you had a vacation day or something to take off work to get an extra day in there it wouldnt hurt.

Two FULL days should git-r done. I know that me and my bro can strip a car in no more than an hour (SA parts for sale, don't ask where I got them ), so that part shouldn't be hard.

for a **** like you, maybe months...err years. j/k, for the interior stuff, use 2 cordless drills to speed up the process. engine wise, let me know if you need help on that. I owe your dad a few favors.

hahaha.. i just finished 2 days ago. I spent a day w the interior. 2 days swapping all the suspension, then i spent about 4-5 hours cleaning and waxing the body yesterday. I wouldve been able to get it done in 3 straight days if i didnt have to work so much. The only thing the car needs now is the engine. I have no engine hoist and no help to pull it out right now. Is it easy to drop it from the bottom?? ive never done that on a 1st gen, just FCs
