Bah, sorry, third post in a row. Ebay kits are the epitome of "you get what you pay for".
These kinds of kits I have heard horror stories from, they make a mold from a kit and keep making kits off that one mold. the mold gets more and more "out of shape" each time you use it. some even are warped.
Just throwing some info your way.

Definately get what you pay for with FG.
FG isnt bad,you just have to treat it right, dont ship the kit if it can be helped, dont bash it into curbs and paint/prep it correctly.
I had no problems mounting up my Mazdatrix body kit of the same design,no professional required. The kit was molded with the correct lips and ledges needed to fasten and secure the kit with none of the screw/bolts showing. The good stuff will be handlaid and strong.Cheap, chopper gun FG stuff is flimsy and low budget......strength-wise,its like comparing plywood and partical board.
When it came time for the widebody upgrade,I drove to Santa Barbara to pick up the parts from Mariah personally. They told me that pickup is by far the best way to receive your stuff, since shippers are brutal on large fiberglass parts.I had a pro install and mod the kit,for obvious reasons.Widebodies are a very indepth install......narrow body stuff should be easy enough for a novice to secure, provided its designed well.

Front air dam looks similiar to the Mariah Mode 4. Price is not bad for the pieces, professional install could cost twice the purchase price, not to mention the needed paint work afterwards.
There is no problen using fg as it can be filled and smoothed, which you cannot do with urethane/poly kits. Repairs are also much easier, especially for the DIY-er. Unfortunately, very few buyers have a clue as to how much labor/timeexpense it takes for a quality install. If the car was brought to me for the work, labor would run 500+, not including paint, other body work, or rust repair needed for a long lasting install. Car would be in primer, but only covering the areas that were disturbed during instal.
Honestly, prior to install, all rust and body deterioration repairs should done before even thinking of installing any kit. Not to do so would be the same thing as exterior painting over rotting wood on a house, or painting the sheetrock with holes in it, in hopes of covering them up. Just does not work well
I know I get a bit **** when it comes to doing these sort of projects, but what's the point of doing a body mod like this when the body rusts outs from underneath you, and the kit still looks good?
If all of the other body repairs are addressed, go for it. Not trying to rain on anyone's dreams, but the point is, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing it right the first time". Second time around gets even mire expensive.
Just my 0.02 cents worth of experience, much of which has been learned the hard way.
edit: Went back and read the for sale thread, great price on the mode 4 kit. More than 1/2 of the expense involved in the install is the whaletail, needs to be molded to the body. I have a Mode 4 front that once I get repaired will be sold for 250, that's a bargain compared to new.

I hope this isnt considered thread jacking but it is on the same lines and possibly a diffrent option. Has anyone seen this:

I dunno about the fact that it's very flexable and may warp easier. But then again you wouldnt have to worry much about it breaking and cracking all the time.

The biggest issue with the urethane kits is if the have wrinkles/waves/uneven surface, if you can't strech them out during install, you're stuck with them. Temperature swings make the distortions even more pronounced. I'm not against the poly kits, they are very forgiving when it comes to curbs, rockchips, dings, etc.. Repairing them is an entirely new skill set, not easily done to make look right and more expensive than fg repairs.

if your going to pay that much for the ebay kit might i would go with a Erebuni kit. http://www.erebunicorp.com/ge/mazrx779.htm
