Black Piece between Taillights
ok, so the black piece is really boring looking on the back of my car and I have seen some members who have rx7 carved into the black piece so im wondering how hard it would be to make a stencil and to paint in silver RX7 in this peice. Has anyone done this before and do you guys have any advice on what kind of paint to use and what kind of aftercoat so it will last... Thanks for the help I just really hope it ends up looking good!

Tennis, anyone
boring ?? not much made by people to go there, there used to be a center section
(where the finisher goes)that would light up, years ago. every once in a while one will show up on ebay. try your lisence plate there ???? the thing about the rearends of 1st gens is the taillights, and the finisher and the 3 channels(grooves)
that go all the way across the back of the car, break these lines and it doesn't look quit right IMO.

I just removed it altogether, raised the surface then painted it the same colour as the rest of the car. Removed the bumper at the same time, but that's going to go back on because it just doesn't look right.

It's sort of. Melty. Yeah, melty.
Maybe Louvers would make it look more, um, solid? I dunno. Seems like it ate too much doughnuts and its *** got a little droopy

Now, for something not criticizsing (Ooooh, that was craptastic spelling)
My friend had a Trans Am, seventies style. Had the same sort of centerpiece between the taillights. He got a wood block, and used a heat pen to carve the Firebird symbol into it, and plopped that on there. I'm thinking that I'll replace it with a clearer substance, and just do something similar with the RX 7 logo, behind the clear plate? I dunno how quite I'll do it, but, you'll see

Yeah that black piece bothered me to no end. What I ended up doing is going to the hardware store and bought a piece of rubberized wrinkled grey non skid pad. It comes on a long roll 6.5 in.s by however long you want it. I cut the rx 7 logo out of it and stuck it over the black piece (it has a strong adheseive back) The color and texture of the pad is just subtle enough to be noticed but not stand out and the cut out logo has a 3D effect.
