Big thanks to Jeremy From Tweakit.net Great Flywheel Pic in side

Just wanted to say thanks to Jeremy from www.tweakit.net. the flywheel looks great.

also guys. i just wanted to say any one out there looking for a light flywheel check out what tweakit.net has to offer.

its not exactly like the way you would get it from racing beat with counter weight and ring gear pre installed but you save alot of money.

they come looking like this:

no ring gear on them no counter weight. I had my old flywheel and an auto counter weight to use so it worked out perfect, i took it to a machine shop and they took off the ring gear from my other flywheel and placed it on this one for $12.

came out like so:

tweakit.net also offers free shiping. and NO TAX. so the price on there site is exactly what you pay. not bad if i say so my self.

thanks again

Call me stupid, but why is it a 6 bolt flywheel instead of a single nut.
Later model engine I suppose?
I don't undestand it, probably b/c i'm a 12a guy, and never really payed attention to the 13b?

the machine shop sweat it off and on, and they added red lock tite to it just for extra security. the guy told me the lock tite was not needed but just to be extra safe they did it that way.

its 6 bolt because with all aftermarket light flywheels they use an automatic counter weight. the auto 12a and 13b use a 6 bolt flywheel. as well there is that huge main bolt on there. i just have not put mine on yet.

Have you driven with the light flywheel, I'm worried my car will feel slow off the line and when shifting. I like the umph.

Wait a sec... I see a thermal reactor on there. The three bolt exhaust gives that away. But if you look closer he's got a throttle body on there! WTF?

a flywheel that is lighter then stock will make it rev out faster.. so you will build power quicker. so you will have all the umph you had befor and then some... donw side is your top speed wont be as high.

hornbm what on earth are you talking about.... theres no turbo there.

those are just the bolts that the counter weight bolts on to.

I don't think top speed is effected by lightening the flywheel as I haven't seen anything concrete on this...
Using lighter flywheels in drag racing isn't desirable because off the line, the energy you put into the lighter flywheel is not as much as the heavier one. In other words, if you dump the clutch at 8k (which is high, but for example purposes...) the heavy flywheel immediately releases more stored energy. I know of a few people that claim to have reduced 60ft times because of installing a lighter flywheel, but I've also heard that different launching styles compensate for this.
