best size/kind turbo for this FMIC
My FMIC I have is 29x18x2.5 and I actually have this turbo coming in (T61) and I have reason to beleive that this combo may not work to good. I am and will make this FMIC fit, but what kind/size turbo should I get....im not too thrilled by the T88 wanting something better. I want to be able to do 35psi max and run normal at 15psi with good spool. Suggestions?

So your saying having a stock turbo and that size IC wouldnt defeat the purpose? I mean im just wondering what would be a good setup, and I thought I could post this question here...

Intercoolers = Bigger are better.
HP would go up with a bigger intercooler regardless of what turbo.
35psi is ALOT of boost dude, you got everything else set up right? Injectors, fuel pump etc etc?

its all about flow, 35 psi from a t88 would be different than a stockk 88 turbo at 35psi. but as far as i can tell the diamentions and a t61 should work fine. but 35 psi from that turbo i dont know about, if it was a t76 or something overly insiane you could....

Well I was planning on running max boost all the time, but because this is a rotary and I havent really explored what the engine can handle as compared to the conquest tsi, Then I want to tone it down a little bit and run 35psi in big races or drags or something. As for the other mods accomodating what boost I plan on running, im getting so far what I found, but then again for some of the stuff im not too familiar with yet. Such as I want to get some stuff from www.racingbeat.com such as the race rotors and the peripheral housings, but I havent taken the motor apart yet and I dont know how many peripheral housings are in there lol. And when I read about the race rotors I need some kind of weight things to balance it out, and I need them off of the 88-89 I think.I havent decided on injector size yet.getting all the obvious good hoses and wiring bla bla bla. Apex seals or whatever. intake, exhaust and all those goodies. beleive it or not i will not drive this car after its all done until I have a immaculate leather interior in it lol. well thats the jiff

35 psi on a Peripheral port does not equal driveable. Your talking about a set up makeing well over 600 hp if done right.
What kind of car are you putting this in?
If you really want a motor with that much power you should go 20b. It would be a lot easier, more driveable, and more reliable to make that power with a 20b. And if your serious about what your talking about then obviously money is no object.

There are 2 rotor housings in your average rotary. There aren't any peripheral housings in a stock engine. A p port is a port modification done to rotor housings.

yeesh, 35psi on P-ports... a T88 would possibly be too small
um, moderators? anyone? bueller? bueller? i think this thread belongs in the single turbo section... granted we're being helpful and all 'cos that's what we're like, but this really isn't 1st-gen related and is probably not getting the exposure the situation demands.
but that's jus' me.

Well I do know what im doing in the turbo area, as I do have a turbo car back-ground. And learning the rotary will not be difficult at all. And as for the definition of "streetable" streetable is an opinion not a fact or direct HP at the wheels or anything like that, if I had the money I'de make a 800hp street car, it makes no difference to me. I will stick with the 13b not the 20b, if I wanted the 20b I would have bought it you know? im going for something unique here, something original...im not going to follow in someone elses steps to get HP I want. And I have a 87 Turbo II to answer the other question. And I did post this in the 2nd gen. thread I do not know how it got here actually I will re-post it in single-turbo sorry for the inconvience, but just because what I want to accomplish is going to be difficult does not mean I have to go have someone else do it im sorry, im going to do everything by my-self.

If you go the route you say you're going, I could become a millionaire from selling you engine parts....

I think he means you'll be mulching engines on a daily basis.
High boost on a rotary needs some severe tuning. One good preignition and thats it. ZOOM ZOOM BOOM.

nobody here is trying to be offensive... we just don't want to see you go through so much work to have the darn thing explode on you! honestly, i know i'd rather hear the cool success story you'll write when you finish. but i'd suggest doing a LOT of reading up on the rotary first. its a wee bit different than a piston engine. talk to the turbo guys, they'll know from experience what you can work with. and as far as streetability, i think everyone might mean that below 4k, you'll have no power, and above it will be a rocket. great on the track, but a supreme pain in the *** in stop and go traffic.
good luck!

Well, I know that I do not know everything that I need to know, but im not going to buy something and throw it in before knowing the consequences and procedures, and what else to do to accomodate for these modifications. I appreciate you advising me not to blow her up after I finish it lol. I'de like to atleast get acknowledged into a magazine when Im done...but my cousin will be in one soon after his car his done...damn him.
