Knowingly buying stolen products is illegal. It also encourages the low-life scum ***** to steal more. I've had enough stereos stolen in my time! I would reconsider your purchase, and your outlook on the issue.

I agree.

It's clearly a valid point. Perhaps I will reconsider my purchase.

In which case, anyone ever put in a couple of fiberglass buckets? I think this would be pretty sweet and quite lightweight. Downside: no back adjustment.

i went to monacousa.com and got my seats on sale. over 400 off the pair plus free sliders and mounts and shipping only thing bad.... they are 1-1.5" taller in the seat. to me thats nothing im a shortass and learned to duck when entering the car. EVERYBODY hits there head when entering. the quality is great, very thick tweed that should out last the car. not like 99% of the aftermarket seats with that cheap cotton **** covering. ill attach a pic. soon, i have to get my dig. camera back.

Steeling is just wrong and I will have to be ashamed that a fellow Rx7 owner is even wanting to buy stolen seats.

Yes, they look different and the padding is not the same. I have owned two '87 RX-7s, one with the base seats (hence the transplant into my first gen) and the sport model I have now with the Turbo II seats. I like both, the Turbo seats are obviously made of a better material and have a bit more cushion, but the base seats are almost as good. Either way the seats are a huge improvement over first gen seats.

My buddy put sparcos in his T2 and now I hate to ride in the thing cause I have to tilt my head or lower the seat back to homeboy cruise level. He's like 5 foot even so it bothers him none. My 6'1" frame cannot stand it though

Fair enough. I have been considering the idea lately and am now on the same side as you. I, too, feel ashamed having made the comment and thought the idea. To top it off, my friend's car got stolen last night. I am now firmly against what I suggested earlier. Having never experienced firsthand the pain of losing a car in that way, I really couldn't see the downside. Now, having poured countless hours into his car with him, I see what it feels like to lose something like that. What else can I say? I was wrong and out of line, I was corrected and put back into my place, and now I feel sick even thinking about buying a stolen seat (or any other stolen product).
Please try to not hold my now corrected mistake against me in the future.

Do the Sparcos fit in a FB? That has been my biggest concern with seats. I currently require at least a drivers side, as the left bolster is now quite unbolstered and devoid of about 99% of the foam. So, I have been looking for replacement seats. Though if I go with anything from Sparco, it would the Torino, since my Seven is my daily driver. Anyone heard of the Cobra seats?

the only cobra seats that i have seen are one piece buckets.. so no adjustability, and thus i have not really looked at them.

corbeu's seem to be nice, from what i can tell so far. a friend of mine just put them in his 95 mustang. they hold you like a ***** *****

I read a review for some Cobra seats in Motor Trend (i think) a while back. It was a comparo stating the upsides and downsides. They said that the Cobras were great seats and offered the best bang-for-buck among any they tested. I mean, they still go for like $300, but that's cheaper than many seats. I think they were testing the high performance seats, but I imagine that Cobra is pretty solid through its entire line based on this review. I'll see if I can hunt it out for you.

I already posted this, but the Corbeau Forza's *barely* fit in my FB. The shoulders of the seat literally touch the door when it's closed. If you check the dimensions of that seat on Corbeau's website, it'll be a fair bet that nothing bigger will fit.

There was an article in Sport Compact Car a few months ago on a bunch of aftermarket seats. I'll try to dig it up and post the month of the article here.

He has torinos in his FC so they will fit in a FB. The brackets they send you are next to worthless though. you have to oblong the holes to get the bracket to bolt to the seat, then you have to oblong the holes to get the bracket to bolt to the car. If we had to do it over we would make our own damn brackets.

Do any of you know if there's a major difference in height and weight between the 2nd gen cloth and 2nd leather seat?

The difference between the 1st gen leather and cloth seats is huge... the leather ones sit much higher and weigh about twice as much... I've found some 2nd gen leather seats (to replace my 1st gen leathers) but will the differences be similar? I'm looking for a lower seating position and less weight....

With seat scarcity a problem, I am thinking the way to go is get a conversion bracket for Miata seats. There are a lot more options for Miatas and kickass covers from Crazy Red Italian. Now how to figure out how.

I've seen the 2nd gen Integras Seats in the 1st gen.. My friend Ralphy have them in his 83 GS.. The 2nd gen seats.. are not as comfortable as the SE seats. Don;t forget.. the SE seats have the TILT.. as well and the Recline. :]

I put 99 Miata seats in mine and I love them. They are much lower and give lots more headroom. I always felt clostrophobic with the old seats.

IIRC the outside miata rail bolts to the rx7 floor or the rx7 rail bolts directly to the miata seat.

The inside rail is a different story.

Nice, how heavy are they compared to the stock seats? I've seen some good pics of miata seats, look great, except some have Miata stiched on the headrest, but who cares if I'm comfy and glued to the seat.
