Best radiator to replace OEM?

Is there a good radiator that has the mounting brackets for the OEM oil cooler? What are my options for an 82 FB?

There are no aftermarket copper radiators sad to say. I like the Champion aluminum ones. The only issue with all these aluminum ones is the top bung for the low water level sensor.

It mounts up well and the fan shroud fits.

I put a KoyoRAD in the SE; minor slotting and cutting of the aluminum edges was required to fit the radiator support. At this point, if you're not handy with tools and able to fabricate a little to make things work, this may not be the car for you 😃! That said, the Coolant Level Sensor on the top - as stated above - is the wrong depth to allow useful function. I extended the single wire to it and sank the sensor in my Radiator Overflow tank, then grounded the Coolant in the tank with another section of wire. This allows the dash light to work properly, and if your overflow bottle runs dry, you need to check Radiator coolant level, anyway.

I'd do it again, and the aluminum KoyoRAD cools MUCH better than the stock radiator ever did. I live in the desert, and it never gets over the first 1/4 on the gauge, even when it's 110-115F out. I don't drive it when it's 120+F...

The Koyo radiator would involve making new mounts and hoses for the oil cooler.

I put one in my '82, with a different model and relocated oil cooler, and only had to trim a bit of the ears with snips so that it would sit on the radiator support tabs. I could have removed the tabs but they make it easier to install the rad.
I didn't have any issues with the coolant sensor depth.

What fans are those and how noisy are they? The Panasonic number must just be for the motor as far as I've found.

Those are Derale #16812 fans….I think they pulled 2700 CFM’s if I remedy correctly …..

They were not that loud……

Thanks everyone for the impute looking into the above radiators I'm finding the Champion is made in China and the Koyorad is made in Japan. I'm strongly leaning towards the Koyorad but the oil cooler support maybe a minor problem or Mazdatrix anyone have one?

Thanks everyone for the help.

Hi Mate,

I had a brass recore for my OEM radiator on the advice of the local workshop. It keeps the car cooler with the 12A turbo engine and I am assured the brass recore will last a long time.
