i have used k/n and they perform well. factory mazda filters are great as well. and believe it or not purolator pure one filters are really good and are just repainted versions of mobil one's oil filters

just read the difference between mobil 1's filter is the same as the champion filters 'cept mobil filters have a really tough synthetic fiber filter element...i guess for their synthetic oil...

ive heard to stay away from fram from a couple people. i always used them for the grip on the end, but does anyone have an info that says they are bad? im using acdelco right now because thats all autozone had at the time.

i would assume mazda factory oil filters are the best. factory engineers arent dumb

That page was last updated in 99. Alot can change in 5 years. Has Fram changed their product? Who knows. I have allways used fram with no problems. Not only on my car, but on customers cars as well.

On another note. I have never seen an oil filter be the cause of valvetrain noise on startup. Lifters leaking down yes. Mabey if the car sat for a while. But even then its still not the filters fault.

i heard from one friend that a fram filter killed his turbo. apparently fram uses cardboard for parts of the filter, this degraded, got into his oil system, and clogged up the oil circulation to the turbo..killing it

I use Purolator from Sears.

IIRC it is the same filter used for the 2000 Acura TL 3.2L
