Best hp mods to an -SE?

I think you have enough to do at this point.
They are talking about adapting a 2nd gen AFM to a 1g. The 1g afm is more restrictive than the 2nd gen AFM, however it is not just a simple swap. The ECU on the 1G won't handle the AFM output from the 2g afm.
Throw a cone intake and make a cold air box to start, and do all the other things listed before tackling this one.

The process is pretty indepth but can be done. Basically its taking all the electronics from a SE AFM and putting them in the FCs AFM shell. Personally I would just go carb if emissions were not an issue..
I love the springs. They are a bit stiffer then stock and uncomparable to my old suspension. The thing is on RAILS!!! I am totally happy....Oh ya get this $140 from JC whitney.....go figure

The 2nd gen intake mod i am talking about it done by a guy in TN www.rotaryresurrecton.com and basically it puts a 86 to 88 upper intake on which apparently breathes a little better and can make a few ponies.

Clean and lube the entire Throttle body while you're at it.

iv) Ignition Coils. (Either a CD system or replace your old leading coil).
v) Reduce drag forces (Check your brakes...make sure you don't have warped rotors or seized calipers).
vi) Synthetic diff fluid. (Good to change..some vendors claim a 2% increase in driveline efficiency).
You could also experiment with your ignition timing if you want a different feel. You're not really making it more powerful but a lot of people find RBeat's timing recommendations enjoyable.

2) Cold air intake - the SE's had the air filter box drawing air from in front of the radiator. The 84SE had a much longer 'tube' to draw air through, which was shortened in 85SE's
Heres the best, simplest and cheapest SE air intake yet... MINE ...Ive had the cone-type years ago but ditched it.
Just enlargen the hole of the stock intake cover and use ducting to channel air from the front for a ram effect.
Much better response and definately a power improvement.
