ZOMGZ!

You need to have at least 5" piping and a JDM tip yo!

[ /sarcasm ]

But yeah, if you're looking for a premade complete kit as opposed to getting something custom welded for you, RB is nice.

My set up is custom bent and welded piping into a Borla presilencer and Borla dual-tip exhaust, plenty of breathability and a nice rumbly note.

Mindtrain. Too bad they aren't being sold right now.

For best power you have to make your own (or get a RotaryShack header and fabricate the rest of the system). But you might be happiest with a Racing Beat system if you like bolt-on and don't like excessive noise. Their "steetport" system is better than the short-primary system.

stupid question, will a fc header work on an se? i'm sure the ID/OD was different?
i currently have the se "cat replacement pipe" aka testpipe running on a stock 13b. the rest of the exhaust is stock, pending turbo. i don't want to buy a completely brand new exhaust... only to change it out next year when i get the turbo

I just recently changed my exhaust out from stock to a racing beat header and custom welded all the way back into a magnaflow muffler. Excellent tone, not too ricey. My header DID NOT fit on the motor (i bought it used). I was told it was a first gen header, but the flanges were hitting on a tab on the center plate, so i had to notch the flanges. this didnt cause any issues, just took a while with a die grinder. I am assuming it was a second gen header at this point, so its possible a second gen header will work with minor modification.

The FC header collects into 2.5". Not sure about fitment. Might work.

I have the RB streetport system. It sounds great. Nearly stock idle dB, but howls at WOT. nice deep tone. Adds a good dose of power but theres more to be had with a better system. There is a trade off to all this good. It weighs a bloody ton. My car is at least 100lbs heavier than most out there because of the exhaust. When I BP the engine it will be swapped out for a custom exhaust thats lighter and freer flowing.

the rb system was indeed heavy, but the header by itself is reasonable. I just drove mine to the exhaust shop with just the header installed and had exhaust run the rest of the way back with lighter components.
