I believe the Tilton double-disk clutch system is the ultimate clutchsetup for a 1st gen.

Need to verify your flywheel year prior to getting a clutch.

Make sure to get a clutch plate with springs for smoother engagement and better transmission life, then again you don't have to. I all depends on how you use the car.

Hey Gonzz,

4 puck brass sprung disk if you REALLY want a clutch that grabs SUPER hard. That plus the RACE pressure plate is what I got on the 12a J-Bridge race car. Clutch engagement is very quick and tight. Even Iwouldn't put one on a street car but some do. SUPER tight clutch.

A Centerforce II is more drivable. Pressure plate is softer [yet still stiffer than stock] and easier on the left foot. But it's the weights on the pressure plate fingers that centrifugal force pushes outwards to increase pressure and grip that really make it worth the while. Had one on the same 1st gen with 12a SP and it grabbed just as hard as the RB street/strip but easier on the thigh muscles.
