best clutch discs

ok i found some centerforce clutches for like 244. Wowsa! there are also the stock ones for like 85. are the stock plates that bad? are the centerforce clutches reliable? also this is just a little ol'12a. is it worth all of the work? will it ever be as fast as a 13b?

$325 for a CenterForce Dual-Friction clutch way back when....it is the best clutch I've seen...survived a night of 18+ passes on the Kennedale track and NEVER smelled clutch. 225/50/15s out back...2000 - 4500 rpm clutch drops all night long while I tried to find the best starting rpm...and it drove home under its own power. Spend the money....nothing you can throw at the engine later will bother that clutch.

If you don't have tools, time and knowledge, a clutch is not the place to start.

Are you racing the RX, or just using it as a daily driver? If you're not going to upgrade the 12A in any manner, why spend the money on the clutch? A stock clutch plate will last 100,000 miles, if you're just doing everyday driving...

If you're not mechanically inclined, take it to a mechanic.

... that begs another question: How many ponies do you think you're pulling? I've been considering street porting... I don't want to take the car to the track, but I wouldn't mind handing some of the new Celicas and Mitsubishi's their asses occasionally...

heh... perfect timing... I just finished up the install of my centerforce dual friction clutch assembly this week..

Initial impression? Works great, but I think the pedal pressure is actually a bit lighter than the stock unit I pulled out.. Kinda weird..

Install was just as straight forward as any other clutch is going to be. And the holding power is supposed to be excellent, but I haven't tested that part yet...

HAHAHA... me too.

i just finished it up yesterday, but i still have to get this electrical problem figured out.

I got the centerforce stage II, and it seems to work pretty good. i also noticed that the pedal feels a little lighter than i thought it would, but i still have to adjust the pedal and that might help?
I got my clutch from http://www.performanceintl.com and it worked great, good price, and was delivered early!

as for doing it yourself, if you don't have the tools, then don't even mess with it. With the tools, it took me some time to do, as a lot of little things went wrong, and it was my first time doing it.

I'm using the 6puck dual friction for my car. Don't have my turbo setup completed yet so I havn't tested it yet, but it looks very nice and I know it will grip HARD and last.

They don't have prices on their site, but mine was $325 shipped.
