Best Back End?

I got a hold of some large tires for free , 15 rim by 12 wide 5 bolt not sure of the off set or size of bolt pattern yet. What do you gents think is the best back end for me to get them on my 84 GSL, the ford 8.8 or the stock back end with the re-speed 5 lug rear axels?

Cheers

Unless you have the power to back up using that large of tire and plan on doing the body work to mod the fenders, they're a waste.

I have a ford 302 in the car (I found the car without an engine in it), and yes I would need to expand the fenders out about 3 to 4 inches to fit the wheels

I will need new brakes, shock and springs and to raise the back end up a bit, over all not the easiest mod to do but I’m willing to put the time in to it, and you all definitely have the answers for me to get it done, I’m just looking to do it the best way I can.

Ford 8.8 would be the better option since you have the torque of the 5.0L.
